Well hello there!
I’ve been cooking delicious food since I was a little girl in my “Mammies” kitchen. I grew up doing things the old fashioned way. We would can, pickle and make our own jellies and breads. I think there is a special feeling that comes from eating good homemade food. My dad had a little diner in Pennsylvania, where I grew up. I learned a lot about the restaurant business and about customers. That’s why I always want to deliver the best quality food, along with great friendly service to all of our customers. Since that first experience at the diner, I’ve lived and traveled all over the world. When you visit us, you’ll see that in addition to delicious southern style dishes, we have special entrées from every region of the US. These recipes reflect the diversity in my family and the experiences we’ve shared throughout our lives.  Just as your family passes on life experiences thru food, so has mine. That is why I was so pleased when my daughter Mary Heisey decided to become the new owner of Ruth Ann’s Restaurant in 2006.  She is re-introducing traditional southern food to a whole new generation. Come visit us for a great meal and some friendly conversation.

As more and more chain restaurants open across the country we are committed to preserving the tastes and aromas that are unique to our region of the country.
